The Basic principles of learning in India was anything less than Gold.
The ancient methods of learning ensured the learner and the teacher both gain from the subjects discussed. Those learning sessions were based on the fundamental logic of questioning, finding interpretations from all learners, delving into the root cause analysis, and then applying them in real life.
Quoting from “The Upanishads” by Sri M, ‘The Upanishads does not directly say, “Yes, you exist,” or, “you do not exist.” It starts from the root of the problem and then guides you to discover the answer for yourself.
The keyword here is “guides you to discover the answer for yourself”.

Does our current Indian education system inspire us to think through? Does it allow the students to question everything so that students can learn better?
We see a completely different way of teaching which doesn’t allow the students to question much ( I being the part of the same education system), very few discussions are encouraged to bring forward different perspectives and the focus is to get better grades so that a seat is secured in universities abroad.
On the contrary, the Vedic way of teaching is practiced in International Board and other private schools in India today. Western schools and universities have packaged education the Veda way, albeit not branding it per se.
Had we in India followed our earlier education system, we would have produced more inventions than what we currently have today!
There’s merit in revisiting the ancient wisdom route. Vedas and Upanishads are holding the baton to a richer and meaningful way of living, not just for students, but for anyone who wants to learn more on any subject, be it science, technology, literature, or medicine.
For starters, there are a lot of free online classes that one can google to find suitable reading on Vedas, however, it would be good if the methods of teaching is also modified to follow a more exploratory way than a reactive one.
This is my first step to spread awareness about this topic and would urge Government of India to collaborate with the Education ministry to initiate these programs to change the way education is imparted.
